Job Summary
Coordinate landscaping schedules and execute mowing, edging, fertilizing, weeding, mulching, and tree trimming for all Gritman properties. Operate mowers, trimmers, blowers, and trucks to load, secure, and back trailers into driveways while maintaining plant health and irrigation systems. During snow season, operate plow trucks to clear driveways and parking lots, apply salt or ice melt, and work on-call during storms. Log all work and photos in the smartphone app, perform basic equipment checks, and ensure all areas remain functional and aesthetically pleasing. Requires 2+ years of landscaping experience and ability to lift 50+ lbs in all weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent
- 2+ years in landscaping/grounds services
- Operating in a comfortable and safe manner with trucks and trailers (or strong experience with larger vehicles/equipment)
- Experience in lawn care, landscaping, snow, construction, or equipment operation
- Willing and able to be on call for winter storms (nights/weekends as needed)
- Must know how to operate lawn maintenance equipment, such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, snow)
- Physical and mental endurance required for availability during the four seasons, including traveling to sites and being outside in winter and summer weather conditions performing physical tasks
- The ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, ascend/descend stairs, and walk for various lengths of time during business hours
- Subject to temperature extremes both interior and exterior
- Environmental hazards exist with temperatures, chemicals, and power equipment
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities
- Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet environment
- Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization
- Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential information
- Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention
- Demonstrates excellent customer service through their attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in The Gritman Way
- Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of practice or job role
- Maintains compliance with organization's policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures
