Landfill Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary
Operate landfill heavy equipment (including excavator, front loader, bulldozer) to bale and load waste into trailers. Perform daily inspections and lubrication, check fluids, and conduct maintenance. Maintain equipment cleanliness, read gauges, and follow safety policies; substitute for absent operators as needed; communicate work plans via two-way radio; comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company directives. Work outdoors in loud, variable conditions with heavy machinery; ability to lift up to 50 pounds; training/certifications in forklift and landfill operations preferred or required where applicable.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED desired, but not required
- Forklift certification
- Ability to obtain Transfer Station/Landfill Operations Certification if needed
- Must read/speak/write English
- Valid work authorization in country of job
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
