Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment at a landfill/recycling center/transfer station to transfer, spread, cover, load, and/or compact waste or soil in a safe and efficient manner. Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and document equipment condition; operate forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment with proper safety standards; monitor waste for unacceptable materials; report needed repairs; ensure shop is clean and equipment is serviced; follow safety policies and procedures; perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation
- One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA
- Good customer services skills
- Professional, courteous and cooperative demeanor
- Good time management skills
- Good follow-through and adherence to company policies and safety standards
- Maintains pride in work and strives to achieve goals
