Job Summary
Coordinate and oversee landfill gas collection, control, and monitoring systems to support safe and compliant landfill operations; ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits, and reporting requirements; conduct monitoring, testing, and environmental sampling activities including groundwater, surface water, leachate, and condensate; prepare and submit regulatory reports; liaise with regulatory agencies regarding permits and compliance; lead and mentor staff involved in landfill gas system operations and maintenance; coordinate repairs and ongoing maintenance of gas collection equipment, wells, pumps, and flare systems; assist with budgeting, procurement, and capital improvement planning; inspect facilities to identify deficiencies and support continuous operational improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in related field
- three (3) years of experience in solid waste operations, landfill gas or an environmental regulatory program OR two (2) years with a Master's degree
- Florida Certified Landfill Operator or ability to obtain certification within six (6) months from time of hire
- A valid Florida driver's license at time of hire
