Job Summary
Landfill Engineer responsible for supporting design, operation, and regulatory compliance across two municipal solid waste landfills and a transfer station. Youâll engage in engineering design, field operations, regulatory permitting, and capital budgeting, collaborating with site teams, regulatory agencies, and external consultants. Key duties include landfill cell design, grading and stormwater review, leachate and gas system design, QA/QC during construction, routine site inspections, and data analysis to optimize environmental performance. Requires a Bachelorâs degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, EIT, 3â8 years of relevant experience, and willingness to travel between facilities; PE preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 3â8 years of experience in landfill, solid waste, or environmental engineering (preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) required
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred or the ability to obtain
- Valid driverâs license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel regularly between facilities
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently in both office and field settings
