Job Summary
Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt is seeking a full-time Land Use Planner in Seattle. The role provides administrative, research, and project support for land use planning and development matters, assists with drafting burden-of-proof applications, coordinates with consultants (traffic engineers, surveyors, civil engineers), manages land use application files, drafts record comment letters, reviews local government development codes and comprehensive plans, and evaluates development feasibility to help projects move through permitting and approval processes. The position requires a minimum of 3 years of land use experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred and AICP or other certifications are also preferred. The role operates under a hybrid schedule (in-office Tue–Thu, work-from-home Mon and Fri). Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of land use experience.
- Strong knowledge of land use laws, development regulations, permitting processes and applicable state and local requirements.
- Strong communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Studies, Geography, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field preferred.
