Job Summary
Land Surveyor leads complex surveying projects, mentors junior staff, and oversees field/office teams to ensure accuracy in boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys using GIS, drones, GNSS, and AutoCAD Civil 3D. The role requires a Professional Land Surveyor license and 5+ years of experience, with responsibilities spanning project management, technical surveying, data analysis & mapping, field operations, and client coordination. The position combines office analysis/mapping with field duties and involves overseeing crews, ensuring regulatory compliance, and liaising with clients, engineers, developers, and government agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Licensure: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying
- Software Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS software, and surveying data processing software
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of state/federal laws (e.g., Subdivision Map Act), boundary laws, and surveying techniques
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to manage teams and communicate with clients
