Job Summary
Instrument Operator for a long-term government project in New York/New Jersey. Performs boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and ALTA surveys; operates Leica or Trimble robotic total stations and data collectors; conducts field calculations, sketches, and survey documentation; downloads and organizes field data; maintains survey equipment; works overnight when required; must obtain OSHA 10/40, TWIC, and SWAC credentials for the government project; willing to travel and work overtime; associate degree or higher preferred. Emphasizes teamwork, safety, and use of cutting-edge surveying technology (Leica/Trimble, 3D laser scanning).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience performing boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction stakeout surveys
- Experience using robotic total stations and Leica scanning equipment
- Flexible availability to accommodate overnight projects
- Strong math and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with computers and electronic data collection equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to travel as needed for project assignments
- Strong work ethic with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to work overtime when required
- Obtain and maintain OSHA 10 or OSHA 40 certification, as well as TWIC and SWAC credentials required for the government agency project
- Associate's Degree or higher
