Land Stewardship Manager

Job Summary

Coordinate, manage, and implement Idaho's conservation easement stewardship program, overseeing compliance with legal monitoring and reporting requirements. Lead the easement monitoring team, provide training and resources for staff and interns, and oversee day-to-day operations on multiple TNC-owned conservation properties. Implement annual operating plans, conduct onsite stewardship and land management activities, and plan resource management projects using tools like regenerative agriculture and grazing leases. Build strong relationships with private landowners, business leaders, community organizations, and public agencies to accomplish stewardship goals. Travel throughout Idaho approximately 50% of the time, including nights or weekends at remote locations, while working in variable weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in relevant field
  • 5 years' experience in natural resource management, conservation, environmental studies, or related field
  • Experience with resource stewardship
  • Experience with conservation easements
  • Experience with land management
  • Experience with farm and ranch management
  • Experience building relationships and partnerships
  • Experience communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, both in writing and verbally
  • Experience managing multiple projects at one time
  • Experience managing files and databases
  • Experience using common software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Web Browsers
  • Willingness to travel extensively within Idaho (up to approximately 50% of time)
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Ability to periodically travel to TNC properties within Idaho on nights or weekends
  • Comfort working in variable weather conditions
  • Comfort working at remote locations
  • Knowledge of current trends and practices in conservation, land management, and natural resource protection
  • Ability to complete tasks independently with attention to deadlines
  • Valid driver's license
  • Compliance with TNC's Auto Safety Program
  • Completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement
