Job Summary

Program Motorola ASTRO 25 SmartZone Release 7.14 trunked systems, configuring network controllers with parameters, user IDs, and encryption codes. Execute OTAR and OTAP functions, manage positive subscriber lists, and perform emergency talk group reassignments and mutual aid setups. Run weekly activity reports, process parts orders, and schedule subscriber technical issues for batteries, antennas, and vehicle installations. Provide Tier II and Tier III support, including software maintenance, patching, and upgrades. Maintain backup network controllers and document AES encryption changes per client schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Position requires a Secret security clearance
  • Must have sufficient mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner
  • Must be able to lift weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred or have equivalent experience
  • Three to 5 years of experience preferred
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Able to take proactive measures to prevent problems rather than reactive by nature
  • Strong verbal and written communication to effectively express concepts, plans, and proposals
  • Must be able to perform the following with minimal guidance
  • Support Motorola ASTRO 25 SmartZone Release 7.14 trunked system
  • Program and run emergency talk group reassignment and mutual aid talk groups when required
  • Process parts orders
  • Run parts inventory reports
  • Run stock subscriber reports
  • Schedule subscriber technical issues (batteries, Antenna, remote mic and malfunction issues)
  • Schedule subscriber vehicle installation
  • Provide touch labor
  • Provide Land Mobile Radio (LMR) programming and perform regular software maintenance, including patching and upgrades
  • Update software to ensure compatibility, security, and optimal performance, as well as applying patches to address known issues and vulnerabilities
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline preferred
  • Three to 5 years of experience preferred
