Job Summary
Land/Home Underwriter responsible for evaluating mortgage loan applications and underwriting decisions in the Land/Home department. Reviews mortgage applications, credit reports, income documentation, and property appraisals to determine borrower eligibility and risk, ensuring compliance with TILA, RESPA, Fair Lending, and investor guidelines. Communicates decisions to Loan Officers and borrowers, collaborates with processors and other team members to resolve conditions, maintains thorough underwriting documentation, and delivers strong customer service while staying informed on industry regulations and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in mortgage underwriting
- Familiarity with Encompass software is advantageous
- Knowledge of the Manufactured Home Industry is a desirable asset
- Demonstrated ability to multitask
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
