Land Development Project Manager

Job Summary
Lead land development projects from planning, design, and permitting through construction and closeout, managing scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and quality across multiple initiatives. Serve as the primary point of contact for public and private sector clients while guiding engineers and coordinating subconsultants. Oversee design documents, reports, and specifications, and handle permitting, agency coordination, and stakeholder engagement. Provide technical direction in grading, stormwater, utilities, and site design, and contribute to proposals and fee development. This role offers ownership of projects shaping communities in the BaltimoreâWashington region within a collaborative, rapidly expanding practice.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Civil Engineering
- PE License (MD, DC, or VAâor ability to obtain)
- 10+ years of progressive land development experience
- Proven success managing projects, clients, and teams
- Strong knowledge of local permitting processes in MD/DC/VA
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Experience with stormwater design and modeling tools (Hydraflow, HydroCAD, etc.)
- Strong technical background in grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion control
- Involvement in industry organizations or business development
- Experience preparing proposals and managing client relationships
