Land Development Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary
Oversee land development projects from concept through construction by preparing construction documents, site layout plans, grading and drainage plans, and utility infrastructure plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Lead permitting efforts with local, state, and regulatory agencies while coordinating with clients, consultants, and jurisdictional authorities throughout project development. Manage project schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery, conducting quality assurance reviews and site visits to monitor progress and compliance. Mentor junior engineers and designers while collaborating on public and private sector projects. Requires a Georgia Professional Engineer license, 10+ years of civil engineering experience, and proficiency in design software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience in transportation and/or site civil design
- Includes a combination of roadway, interstate, traffic, stormwater, irrigation design, and utility relocations
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing tasks, projects (small to large scale), and professional/technical staff
- Proven ability to manage project budgets effectively
- Strong understanding of transportation design and construction standards
- Demonstrated history of meeting project deadlines and budgets
- Skilled in developing relationships with municipal, county, and state agencies for transportation and/or site civil projects
- Proficient in design software including: MicroStation, Inroads, Open Roads Designer (ORD), Autodesk Civil3D 2018
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients, staff, and management
- Ability to adapt and respond quickly under pressure
- Strong team mentality and a positive, proactive attitude
- Experience with GDOT and local municipalities roadway design projects
- Georgia Professional Engineer (PE) license required, or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with traffic signal and roundabout design is a plus
- Additional experience in traffic engineering, environmental constraints, hydraulics, and drainage is a plus
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desirable but not mandatory
- GSWCC Level II Design Professional Certification preferred
