Job Summary
Conduct land referencing, stakeholder engagement, and statutory processes to secure land access for infrastructure development across the UK and Ireland. Liaise with landowners, legal representatives, and planning authorities to interpret land registry data and negotiate agreements, while working with multi-disciplinary teams to support high-profile projects like HS2 and the TransPennine Route Upgrade. Provide training, technical assurance, and mentoring to junior colleagues, representing the business at the Land Consultant level on client-facing activities. Travel regularly to various sites and locations, including the possibility of visiting the Global Capability Centre in India.
Required Qualifications
- The ability to travel effectively to various sites/locations
- General IT skills
- Microsoft Office suite including Teams
- basic skills with GIS/mapping tools
- Identification of land, ownership, and interests in land
- Strong understanding of land ownership and land management practices
- Project management skills in infrastructure projects
- Stakeholder engagement for infrastructure projects
- Experience of working as part of multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality outputs for clients
- Effective communication and organizational skills with ability to liaise at all levels with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to delegate and undertake technical assurance of other colleagues' work
- Drive and enthusiasm to create strong technical work
- A keen interest in delivering land services for clients (including land referencing, survey access, stakeholder and landowner engagement or statutory processes)
- You may have relevant transferable skills and will be passionate about the land and consenting industry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience and/or knowledge of UK statutory consents requirements, would be an advantage, but not essential. Consents examples include hybrid Bills, TWAs, DCOs, CPOs, and/or Vesting Orders
- Experience of wayleave agreements would be beneficial
