Job Summary
Land Agent responsible for negotiating and acquiring land-use agreements for Canacre projects in Ontario, including ongoing communication with landowners, private landowners, and stakeholders; representing clients and Canacre at community/stakeholder meetings; providing site-acquisition expertise to clients and engineering/construction personnel; reviewing legal agreements and project layouts; working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; travel required; requires strong negotiation, communication, and reporting skills, with a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in land acquisition or real estate related to large-scale infrastructure; proficiency in Microsoft Office and a valid driver’s license; professional accreditations (IRWA, REIC, OREA, AIC, NAIOP) are assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Post-secondary education ideally in a business-related discipline
- Experience in land acquisition, real estate or familiarity with large-scale municipal commercial construction
- Professional experience on large scale infrastructure projects
- Experience with expropriations and partial takings
- At least 10 years experience required
- Knowledge of land acquisition or real estate negotiation
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license
- Accreditation, membership and certifications from IRWA, REIC, OREA, AIC, NAIOP considered an asset
