Job Summary
Coordinate landowner engagement, access arrangements, and record-keeping activities for UK capital projects under the supervision of Land Access Managers. Draft and issue initial correspondence, permission letters, and simple access licences; maintain contact databases, engagement logs, and trackers to ensure audit readiness. Support land referencing by conducting desktop title research, HM Land Registry searches, and preparing Book of Reference inputs. Liaise with Survey Coordinators to align permissions with survey programmes and flag blockers early. Contribute to GIS updates by providing land ownership and access status data. Follow ERM health, safety, and ethics standards on all fieldwork and risk assessments.
Required Qualifications
- A degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in land management, rural surveying, geography, planning, environmental science, or a related discipline — or equivalent early-career experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage landowners, tenants, and agents professionally by phone and/or email
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple trackers, records, and correspondence streams simultaneously
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- A proactive, curious mindset with a genuine interest in UK infrastructure, energy, and the land access/right-of-way discipline
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of assigned tasks and deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Awareness of the UK land access and consenting landscape (e.g., wayleaves, DCO, planning applications)
- Prior experience (including placements, internships, or graduate schemes) in a land, property, planning, or environmental consultancy setting
- Exposure to GIS platforms (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) or land data management tools
