Job Summary

Manage and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) systems, including servers, gateways, switches, and soft clients, while ensuring compliance with DISA STIGs and AF TCNOs. Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for voice systems, handling emergency outages within two hours and routine troubleshooting for TDM, ISDN, and PBX infrastructure. Install, configure, and update firmware and software across voice equipment, preparing network maps and documentation in monitoring tools like Cisco Prime Infrastructure. Process and resolve tickets via the government system, support legacy technology decommissioning, and deliver training as requested. Requires a Secret Security Clearance, CCNP Voice certification, and 5+ years of network administration experience.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in network administration in a network/voice support environment
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • Security+ Certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Voice Over IP experience (CCNP Voice or Collaboration) and maintain valid CCNP credentials
  • Must have an understanding of enhanced 911 systems
  • Must have an understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency Unified Capabilities Requirements
  • Must have an understanding of Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)
  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 support capability for Voice systems
  • Ability to implement firmware, software and hardware changes to ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and AF TCNOs
  • Ability to transition (i.e., moves, adds and changes), operate, maintain, restore, protect, backup and refresh CUCM telephony including all associated infrastructure systems, components, and data
  • Ability to administer Servers, Unity Messaging System, Databases, Physical phones, Soft Clients, Operating systems, Gateways, Switches, Routers, Firmware, Software and Hardware for CUCM systems
  • Emergency voice LAN troubleshooting capability within 30 minutes of notification
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve any emergency voice outage within two (2) hours of notification
  • Routing network troubleshooting and maintenance capability within the guidelines of the Government's Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) process
  • Ability to prepare and maintain project planning documentation, create and maintain LAN/voice network maps/diagrams and presentation material
  • Ability to input relevant information into network monitoring tools (e.g., Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Solar Winds)
  • Ability to conduct research and load applicable software, hardware, or firmware updates to voice equipment
  • Ability to physically and virtually install new equipment
  • Ability to use Government provided ticket system to process, log and close out trouble tickets, change requests and work-orders
  • Traditional telephony knowledge including time division multiplex switching, Nortel circuit-based switches, ISDN trunking, Channel-Associated Signaling (CAS) trunking, Defense Switched Network (DSN) operations including multi-level precedence and preemption (MLPP) and Post Branch Exchange (PBX)
  • Ability to integrate voice services including conference call hosting capabilities, voicemail, Call Center Capabilities, Emergency 911 services, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), T-Metrics, voicemail, and DSN access with the CUCM
  • Ability to ensure all voice equipment complies with all AF Enterprise CM Policies and is listed on all relevant inventories
  • Ability to support decommissioning of legacy telephony/Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) technologies and migration to IP-based telephony
  • Ability to provide training, as requested
