Job Summary
Laminating Department Lead with hands-on responsibility for safety-driven, efficient operation of the Laminating Department. Responsible for setting up and operating laminators, achieving production efficiency targets, monitoring board quality (flatness, warp, bonding, adhesive application), and enforcing quality standards per job jackets and internal SOPs. Leads by example in safety, participates in pre-production meetings, coaches operators on machine operation and quality expectations, assists with training, and maintains production documentation and metrics. Requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, and a hands-on ability to work on the production floor. Must have minimum 5 years of laminator or corrugator experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment and a solid understanding of materials and moisture control.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of laminator or corrugator experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of board construction, adhesives, coatings, and moisture control
- Experience troubleshooting warp, bonding failures, and quality defects
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability and willingness to work hands-on on the production floor
- Be flexible to work off shift when needed
- Spend the majority of your working day on the production floor supporting laminating operations
- Be proactive in identifying and correcting quality, safety, and efficiency issues
- Maintain clear, professional communication with operators, supervisors, and support teams
- Take ownership of laminating department performance
- Help lead and finish any test job/test job protocols
- Work on and help improve any corrective actions
