Job Summary
Administer medications and monitor vital signs for clients undergoing addiction treatment and medically supported detox/withdrawal. Conduct nursing assessments, obtain medical histories, and administer specific assessments including CIWA/COWS/PAWS and suicidal ideation evaluations to develop and revise care and safety plans. Provide ongoing education on treatment plans and emotional support while documenting all interventions and observations accurately. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement individualized care plans and respond promptly to emergencies in a safe, therapeutic environment. This casual onsite role in Gunn, AB involves rotating daytime and overnight shifts with no guaranteed hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited LPN program
- Current license with the College for Alberta's Licensed Practical Nurses (CLPNA) as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Compassionate and nonjudgmental approach to caring for individuals with substance abuse disorders
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with compassion and confidentiality
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid certification
- Successfully complete and pass a Vulnerable Persons Criminal Record Check prior to initiating employment
- Onsite work in Gunn, AB
- Rotation of daytime and overnight shifts
- Casual position status
