Job Summary
Apply cold bond lagging, cut grooves for herringbone and diamond patterns, and install retainers on pulleys using welding standards. Load, close, and operate the autoclave while keeping records of lagging weight and transfer locations. Saw craft lag for drum and wing pulleys, ensure all components meet specifications, and maintain equipment through general housekeeping. Keep supervisors informed of material order needs and complete extra assignments as required. Work in a loud environment with occasional exposure to chemicals and extreme heat.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Forklift license
- Must be able to frequently stoop/bend
- Must be able to frequently use hands and arms
- Must be able to frequently stand and walk
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with assist available
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision
- Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others
- Must be able to work independently and as a team to complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
- Steel-toe safety shoes, safety glasses, protective gloves, grinding shield, and hearing protection
Desired Qualifications
- Strong commitment to quality and working safely
- Knowledge and understanding of various paperwork including but not limited to prints, tech standards, and schedules
- Ability to read various measuring devices (e.g., measuring tape, caliper, micrometer, etc.)
