Job Summary
Lactation Consultant RN in-house registry providing lactation consultation and breastfeeding support within the Northwestern Medicine system. Responsibilities include nursing assessment and data collection, education and demonstration of breastfeeding techniques, development and implementation of patient-specific care plans, collaboration with nursing and medical staff, and adherence to ANA nursing practice standards to promote safe, effective care for breastfeeding patients.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
- CPR - Basic Life Support
- Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultants (IBCLC)
- Current experience (within past five years) or new nursing graduate (within past two years)
- One year experience in pertinent clinical specialty (Preferred)
