Lactation Consultant - RN

Coordinate and provide individualized lactation care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, utilizing delegation and collaborative teamwork to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate breastfeeding care to optimize mother/infant outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation, collaborate to develop interdisciplinary care plans, revise plans as patient status changes, and educate patients and families on lactation care. Responsibilities include managing lactation equipment, rental/sales activities in the Lactation Retail Center, upholding professional standards and ethics, pursuing ongoing education, and achieving IBCLC credentialing within two years of employment. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, cultural sensitivity, and contributing to performance improvement and resource optimization within a hospital setting.
