Job Summary
Coach individual participants in lacrosse skills and develop organized written practice plans with daily warm-up and cool-down procedures. Maintain accurate records of team lists, injury reports, scores, stats, and incident reports while determining athlete academic eligibility. Be present at every practice and contest, supervising weight rooms, locker rooms, and showers, and enforce discipline and sportsmanship. Oversee facility safety conditions during student presence, organize daily schedules, and assist in distributing and collecting uniforms and equipment. Provide guidance and counseling on scholastic achievement and college entrance, attend all athletic department and association meetings, and organize youth clinics.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of lacrosse and its rules
- Ability to instruct players in all facets of the sport
- Evidence of ability to get along with pupils, parents, colleagues, and other citizens
- CPR Certification
Desired Qualifications
- Previous lacrosse coaching experience
- Previous experience in either high school, college or both
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Completion of the MIAA Coaches Education Class
- Completion of other requirements by the MIAA
