Job Summary
Receive various metal types, perform initial classification, and direct them to appropriate locations. Open and close daily operations, welcome customers, and inform them of current metal prices. Process payments, answer telephone calls, and prepare shipping documents while balancing the cash register. Participate in unloading, sorting, and weighing metals, enter data into the RECY software, and operate equipment including a forklift. Ensure premises cleanliness and perform all related duties. Requires a Class 5 driver's license, one year of experience, and forklift operation skills. Available for daytime shifts Monday through Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar position
- valid Class 5 driver's licence
- knowledge of metal recycling
- experience operating a forklift
- available to work outdoors and be exposed to hot or cold temperatures
- able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
- able to perform metal sorting on a table or on the ground
