Job Summary
Labourer 2 – Roads & Drainage sought to support municipal roads and drainage infrastructure in Mission, BC. The role involves hands-on duties including culvert and headwall installation, asphalt repairs, ditching, sidewalk and boulevard maintenance, grading and backfilling, crack sealing, concrete finishing, signage installation, and snow removal. Responsibilities include operating vehicles up to a one-tonne truck, preparing traffic control plans, acting as a flag person and backhoe spotter, assisting with loading/unloading materials, maintaining records of work performed, and supporting safe and efficient execution of municipal projects. The successful candidate will be physically capable, able to work independently, and maintain positive public relations with the community. A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence is required, with Class 1 or 3 with air endorsement desirable. Occupational First Aid Level 1 and Traffic Control Certification are also required. These are full-time positions on a compressed four-day work week (Mon-Thu or Tue-Fri, 7:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.), with compensation of $34.31 per hour (2025 rate) plus benefits after probation. - ability to operate hand and power tools, equipment, and machinery
- experience in general construction and maintenance work
- BCIT coursework such as Introduction to Public Works would be asset
