Job Summary
Provide direct inpatient obstetric care, including labor management, deliveries, and postpartum care while performing triage evaluations and responding to emergencies. Collaborate with nursing staff, midwives, and other physicians to ensure coordinated care, covering for community OB/GYNs or managing unassigned patients. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, help develop labor and delivery protocols, and educate residents, medical students, and nursing staff as needed. Work in exclusive hospital settings offering 24/7 coverage, typically in shift-based roles including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of a 4-year OB/GYN residency program
- Board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Valid state medical license
- DEA registration
- Strong clinical skills in labor and delivery
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
- Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based care
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced training in high-risk obstetrics or maternal-fetal medicine
