Job Summary
Conduct machine and manual floor scrubbing, carpet shampooing, waxing, and buffing. Perform snow shoveling, mowing, lawn trimming, and general cleaning including sweeping, dusting, and glass washing. Stock handling, replenishing supplies, and replacing light bulbs. Assist a custodian in situations requiring two people for safety or heavy work. Maintain regular daily attendance while demonstrating physical strength to lift heavy items and operate all custodial equipment. Work 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, M-F, at a current contract rate of $18.00 per hour plus shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- General knowledge of cleaning procedures
- General knowledge of the operation of power tools
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be ambulatory; ability to walk and carry heavy items and to be able to operate all custodial equipment
- Must have good vision; ability to see well enough to clean standards set by supervisor or district
- Must possess physical strength; enough strength to lift, move, and carry heavy items throughout the day
- Intelligence; must be able to evaluate a problem, devise and implement a solution
- Must possess social skills; must be able to work in a team environment
