Job Summary
Laborer supports underground construction crews in the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications infrastructure. This role involves physical labor, working in outdoor environments, and assisting with trenching, conduit installation, and site restoration. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and eager to learn the telecom industry. Responsibilities include assisting with underground utility construction (trenching, digging, backfilling), supporting conduit/duct bank/handhole/vault installation, helping pull and secure fiber optic and copper cables, operating basic hand and power tools, locating and protecting existing utilities, setting up work zones with traffic control and safety barriers, performing site cleanup and restoration, following OSHA and company safety procedures, and working as part of a crew to meet production and quality goals. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED preferred, willingness to learn underground telecom construction methods, ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, ability to lift 75–100 lbs, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred, and ability to pass background checks and drug screenings if required.
