Job Summary
Perform all labor duties within South Yard Operations, including manually lifting and placing wood to prepare cargo setup and securing loads to chassis and moffets. Assist forklift operators with receiving and delivering cargo while maintaining a clean work area free of debris and safety hazards. Adhere strictly to operating guidelines, safety policies, and PPE instructions, reporting any incidents or hazards immediately. Work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays in an outdoor environment exposed to extreme weather, dust, and noise. Obtain a TWIC card within 60 days of employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have prior experience performing a large amount of manual labor to include heavy lifting
- Must have the ability to read, write, and speak Basic English
- Must have the ability to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
- Must have the ability to work independently with limited supervision and strong initiative
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees
- Must have the ability to think logically, follow procedures, instructions and make sound decisions
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card within 60 days of employment
- Must be able to work (flexible hours) extended hours including nights, overtime, weekends and holidays
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
