Job Summary
Unload, inspect, and process scrap metal while maintaining yard cleanliness and equipment safety. Operate forklifts and skid steers to move material, assist customers with unloading, and prepare autos for processing by removing designated parts and fluids. Perform daily equipment inspections to report defects and execute general maintenance tasks such as digging, sweeping, and brush control. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental standards throughout the yard. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience
- Ability to learn new tasks as assigned
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
Desired Qualifications
- 1-year previous general labor in the scrap metal or construction industries
- Skid Loader/Skid Steer/Forklift experience
- Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)
