Job Summary
Prepare, pave, and clean railroad crossings while maintaining equipment and running small machinery. Unload and load gear, replace and anchor rubbers, and ensure flanges and roads meet Vorst Paving quality standards. Maintain a safe work environment by wearing required PPE including steel-toed boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. Work in hot, humid conditions with occasional exposure to loud machinery and moving trains. Perform duties on an 8-to-14-hour shift with 100% travel required, including overnight stays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- High School Equivalence Certificate
- experience to compensate
- Two or more years of work experience in construction field
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to travel up to 100% of the time
- Must be able to pass required tests
- Must be able to pass random screenings (drug and alcohol)
- Must be able to pass training including DOT physicals
- Must be able to pass all FRA regulations
- Driver's License
