Job Summary
Laborer (Quarry) at Maine Drilling & Blasting. Perform construction laboring duties at the quarry site, learn drilling and blasting operations, follow company safety procedures, and maintain a clean, organized job site. Must be safety-minded, able to work outdoors in varying weather, and capable of lifting up to 100 lbs. Travel/out-of-town travel and overtime may be required. Responsibilities include loading/unloading explosives from trucks, pumping blast holes dry with a water pump, carrying stemming stone to blast holes, attending safety meetings, and participating in daily/periodic safety briefings. Qualifications include a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and ability to travel; ATF screenings; experience with construction labor and heavy equipment preferred; ability to learn and develop skills for higher level tasks; and the ability to follow directions from Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor, or Drill Operators.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation (out of town/state travel required)
- Must successfully pass ATF screenings
- Experience with construction labor and heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level task
- Must be able to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators
- Individuals must be safety-minded and able to work well outdoors in varying weather environments
- Out of town/state travel and overtime may be required
