Job Summary
Assist with fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure installation, including site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and backfilling. Handle cable pulling, loading/unloading materials, and move equipment while acting as a ground guide for bucket trucks and heavy machinery. Set up work zone safety measures, maintain vehicles and tools, and operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. Support linemen with hardware preparation and pole setting, while strictly following safety protocols, attending toolbox talks, and reporting issues immediately. Reportedly travel to job sites daily with flexible hours, overtime, and weekend availability as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to report to assigned yard or job site each day
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or nights as needed
- Safety-first mindset with good situational awareness
- Be willing to travel to job sites daily and occasionally work extended hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in general labor, construction, or utility work preferred
- Eager to learn the telecom trade with advancement potential into lineman or operator roles
