Job Summary
Conduct manual labor support on highway and bridge construction projects, including cleaning and preparing job sites, loading and delivering materials, and using power tools like saws and drills. Perform maintenance and repair tasks on roads and highways under the direction of field supervisors, while adhering to strict safety protocols and wearing required PPE. Transport materials such as wood, concrete, and steel, and report equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately. Work on-site in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington DC, requiring the ability to stand, stoop, and work at heights for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- Follow oral and written directions and plans
- Must be able to stand, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, walk, and work at heights for extended periods
- Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, methods, and techniques
- Lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs
- Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects while carrying tools and equipment
- Must be able to work on weekends and at night when needed, sometimes with limited notice
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- A pre-employment drug screen is required
