Job Summary
Assist in the production of cored wire by helping line operators and preparing finished product for shipment; may also work in shipping, receiving and fabrication areas. Knowledge of proper handling of powders, labeling and identifying material per SOPs and customer specs. Safely operate equipment including forklift, overhead crane, welder, bander, strip de-coiler, scrap cutter, powder retrieving mixer, vacuum, and other small tools. Weld straps on or band finished cages; weigh, identify, package and store finished materials; maintain paperwork and traceability for material lots and labels. Maintain and clean tools, follow production schedule for level winder mandrel setup, store pallets, manage floor sweepings, fill flow-bins, cut scrap, and assist in all areas of Production as needed. Attend safety meetings and adhere to safety protocols. Requires high school diploma or GED and prior experience; overtime and shift flexibility expected. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Fork truck operation experience
- Overhead crane experience
- Welding experience
- Production/manufacturing environment experience
- Willingness to work day and/or night shift; overtime may be required
- Reliability and punctuality
- Good transportation to work
- Ability to follow SOPs and safety guidelines
- Safe handling of powders
