Job Summary
Laborer needed for heavy/construction projects (NC, SC). Responsibilities include aiding safe completion of tasks in heavy construction, underground utilities, and environmental construction; operating small power and hand tools after safety familiarization; assisting with trenching, material handling, traffic control setup, and site housekeeping. Must complete safety training and hazard analysis documentation; travel up to three weeks away from home may be required. Requires attention to safety procedures, manual reviews of tool/user manuals, and ability to meet physical demands. Pre-employment drug screening and mandatory safety meetings are required.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma, GED, or trade school certificate is preferred
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Clean driving record
- Must be over 18 to operate power-driven saws or perform excavating operations
- Travel from site to site will be required
- Out-of-town travel up to three weeks at a time
- Working knowledge of construction site safety and road safety regulations
- Must wear PPE and adhere to safety standards
- Must be able to perform physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, standing, etc.
