Job Summary
Manually handle, stack, and palletize salt products while filling paper bags, sealing them, and moving product using a forklift. Perform department housekeeping, cleaning, sanitizing, and unloading package material to supply fill stations. Assist higher classification workers and operate various machinery under general supervision of Evap Mill or Rock Mill supervisors. Maintain a clean work environment and wear all required personal protective equipment. This 24/7 union environment assigns days, hours, and shifts based on seniority, with flexible hours, weekends, and overtime likely required.
Required Qualifications
- Capable of frequent heavy lifting
- Ability to manually handle, stack and palletize salt products
- Proficient in operating mobile equipment
- Familiar with repair work
- Must be able to work safely and wear all personal protective equipment
- Must be physically able to access all plant work areas
- Must be capable of wearing all required PPE
- Must be able to work various shifts and weekends as assigned
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders / stairs
- Must be able to work on elevated platforms
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing plant environment
- Must be able to work in a surface plant environment of varied temperatures and humidity
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Familiar with high-speed packaging/conveying/palletizing machinery a plus
