Job Summary
General Laborer at Athens Services responsible for maintaining landfill/transfer station property and drainage channels, directing traffic, and enforcing safety procedures. Duties include manual cleaning, installing drainage structures, operating hand tools, placing tarps, moving materials, enforcing traffic regulations, communicating with customers, participating in weekly safety meetings, and adhering to PPE and safety protocols. Must work in outdoor environments with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures; requires standing, walking on uneven terrain, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Strong emphasis on safety, teamwork with drivers and supervisors, and professional communication.
Required Qualifications
- 1-year experience as a general laborer or in a construction environment
- High School Diploma / GED
- ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and the public
- ability to work overtime as needed
- valid C Class Driver License
- ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
