Job Summary
Assist crew leaders in construction, reconstruction, and maintenance work for underground utilities in residential and commercial areas. Operate or signal specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, and excavators while performing hand digging and locating obstructions. Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards and complete duties as assigned. Requires ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift up to 80 lbs, and work in adverse conditions. Valid driver's license required within two weeks of employment. High school diploma desired; experience with underground utilities preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
- Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling
- Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver's License within two weeks of employment
- Pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen
