Job Summary
Provide ground support for operations by carrying, handling, and detaching heavy steel chains, blocks, and cables. Climb on and crawl under derailed railroad cars while cleaning, maintaining, and setting up equipment with small and large tools. Operate cutting torches, hand tools, and welding gear, lifting up to 150 lbs with frequent carries of objects up to 50 lbs. Work at elevated heights on railroad cars, bridges, over water, or in water, and maintain service records for required equipment. Ensure safekeeping and proper usage of company tools while working in an emergency response environment requiring 24/7/365 on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work on call 24/7 365 days a year in an emergency response environment
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Must be able to qualify for a Commercial Driver License
