Job Summary
Perform all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies while acquiring tools for daily operations. Measure distances from grade stakes, drive stakes, stretch tight lines, and level earth to fine specifications. Bolts, nails, aligns, and blocks under forms; signals equipment operators for alignment and adjustment. Mix concrete, smooth and finish freshly poured cement, position and seal pipe sections, and erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces. Assist with pre-run markings, operate vibratory plates, shovel asphalt, and direct traffic. Get tools, set up job functions like pipe lasers, operate Wacker and jumping jacks for backfilling, use cut saws, prep pipes for connection, shoot and check grades, and perform pipe work connections. This role supports bridge and heavy civil construction projects throughout Northeast PA and the Lehigh Valley. One month of related experience and training required; OSHA certification preferred.
Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience and/or training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Mathematical skills including ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Problem solving
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have specific vision including distance, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be available for outside weather conditions
- Must be available for moving mechanical parts
- Must be available for fumes or airborne particles
- Must be available for moderate noise level
- Must be able to use hands and arms to finger, handle, reach, and feel
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, balance, crouch, or crawl occasionally

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
