Job Summary
Prepare maintenance trucks by installing and removing plows, spreaders, and related equipment, while loading salt, sand, and deicing materials into vehicles. Clean and service plows, spreaders, and other winter maintenance equipment after operations, and clear sidewalks, walkways, entrances, and loading areas as assigned. Operate hand and power tools safely, lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds, and respond to emergency call-outs including nights, weekends, and severe weather conditions. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all OSHA and industry safety standards. Seasonal on-call role in Fredericksburg, VA.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to respond to emergency situations outside normal working hours
- Completion of all required safety and job-specific training
Desired Qualifications
- Experience performing construction, maintenance, landscaping, warehouse, or other physically demanding labor
- High School Diploma or GED
- Equivalent experience or training
- Valid driver's license
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
