Job Summary
Assist with fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure installation, including site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and backfilling. Handle cable pulling, loading/unloading materials, and move equipment while acting as a ground guide for heavy machinery. Set up work zone safety measures, clean vehicles and job sites, and operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. Support linemen with hardware preparation and pole setting. Follow all safety protocols, attend toolbox talks, wear PPE, and report safety issues immediately. Be willing to travel daily, work extended hours, and lift up to 75 lbs in varying weather.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to report to assigned yard or job site each day
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or nights as needed
- Safety-first mindset with good situational awareness
- Be willing to travel to job sites daily and occasionally work extended hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in general labor, construction, or utility work preferred
- Eager to learn the telecom trade with advancement potential into lineman or operator roles
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to report to assigned yard or job site each day.
