Job Summary
Assist with the installation of fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure, including site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and backfilling. Handle cable pulling, loading/unloading material, and moving equipment on site while acting as a ground guide for bucket trucks and diggers. Set up work zone safety measures, clean vehicles and job sites, and operate basic hand tools and compacting equipment under supervision. Support linemen with hardware preparation and pole setting, while strictly following all safety protocols and reporting issues immediately. Be willing to travel to job sites daily and work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or nights as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to report to assigned yard or job site each day
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or nights as needed
- Safety-first mindset with good situational awareness
- Be willing to travel to job sites daily and occasionally work extended hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in general labor, construction, or utility work preferred
- Eager to learn the telecom trade with advancement potential into lineman or operator roles
