Job Summary
Assist linemen and equipment operators with fiber optic and copper cable infrastructure installation, including site preparation, trenching, conduit placement, and backfilling. Handle cable pulling, loading/unloading materials, and move equipment on site while acting as a ground guide for heavy machinery. Set up work zone safety measures, maintain vehicles and tools, and operate basic hand and power tools under supervision. Support pole setting and strand staging while following all safety protocols and reporting issues immediately. Be willing to travel daily and work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, or nights.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform repetitive physical tasks in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to report to assigned yard or job site each day
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, or nights as needed
- Safety-first mindset with good situational awareness
- Be willing to travel to job sites daily and occasionally work extended hours as needed
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in general labor, construction, or utility work preferred
- Eager to learn the telecom trade with advancement potential into lineman or operator roles
Additional Requirements
