Job Summary
Conduct workplace exams and job hazard analysis to identify and report process-related issues, adverse conditions, and hazards to the Production Shift Supervisor. Ensure plant equipment complies with federal, state, and local regulations while performing routine clean-up of process lines, towers, and tunnels using shovels, brooms, rakes, and vacuum trucks. Operate mobile equipment as directed and perform minor maintenance on tools and machinery. Maintain a high safety standard by consistently promoting safe working environments, wearing appropriate PPE, and participating in Environmental, Health, and Safety audits. Communicate effectively on the radio system and follow all Standard Operating Procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Good critical thinking skills with the ability to observe and assess situations and anticipate issues before they occur
- Must understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
- Lifting - Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling). Up to 50 lbs
- Carrying - Transporting an object, usually in the hands or arms or on the shoulder. Up to 50 lbs
- Ladders and Stairs, Heavy
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in cement or heavy industrial manufacturing
