Job Summary
Assist the Fiber Splicing teams with fiber optic cable prep, splicing, and testing for both loose tube and ribbon fibers. Pair with certified splicers to learn day-to-day tasks including fiber optic cable placement in OSP and ISP environments. Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack work while reading design engineers' instructions, maintaining project scope, and adhering to safety procedures. This role requires fieldwork that may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours, with travel depending on business needs. A valid driver's license and ability to lift 75 lbs. are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a drug screening
- Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Lift 75 lbs.
- Works in all weather conditions
- Ability to read and follow design engineers' instructions and specifications
- Adhere to safety procedures
- Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards
