Job Summary
Laborer (Construction) at Maine Drilling & Blasting. Responsibilities include adhering to company safety procedures, submitting weekly time records to Blaster/Foreman, quickly learning safety aspects of working around explosives, performing construction laboring tasks, working unsupervised at times, pumping blast holes dry with a water pump, loading and unloading explosives from trucks, carrying stemming stone to stem blast holes, maintaining a clean and organized job site, and participating in safety meetings and job-site briefings. Requires a valid driver’s license with good driving history, ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, successful ATF background check, and willingness to travel out of town with potential overtime. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour with a travel allowance of $150/week, with pay increases as training targets are met.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen.
- Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF
- Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary
- Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks
