Job Summary
Laborer-Con Construction responsibilities include adhering to safety procedures, learning safety aspects of working on construction sites and around explosives, performing labor tasks, unloading/loading materials, pumping blast holes with a water pump, carrying stemming stone, keeping the job site clean, and participating in safety meetings. Position requires lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs regularly, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, potential out-of-town travel and overtime, and starting pay of $18.00-$20.00 per hour plus a $150/week travel allowance, with active work areas in Harrisburg, Hershey, Lancaster, York, Lebanon, Carlisle, Reading, Hazelton, Pottsville (PA) and Leesburg (VA); opportunities for advancement exist.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License with good driving record and own transportation
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen
- Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF
- Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary
- Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks
