Job Summary
Laborer-Constructions role with Maine Drilling & Blasting (MD&B) supporting expansion along the east coast. Responsibilities include adhering to safety procedures, submitting weekly time cards to the Blaster/Foreman, learning safety aspects of construction sites and working around explosives, performing general labor tasks, working unsupervised when needed, pumping blast holes with a water pump, loading/unloading explosives from trucks, carrying stemming stone to blast holes, keeping the job site clean and organized, and participating in safety meetings. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen, pass an ATF background check, and be able to lift up to 100 lbs (50 lbs regularly) with the ability to travel out of town and work overtime as required. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour plus a $150/week travel allowance, with pay increases as training and targets are met.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Drivers License with good driving record and own transportation
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical & drug screen
- Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF
- Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary
- Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks
- Physical requirements including ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs with 50% frequency
